complete with typos

a recent page.

instagram love Featured at Simple Aussie Girls today, if you haven't already seen it. I assume some of you reading really don't give a brass whazoo about scrapbooking :)

Can I tell you again how much I love instagram? A little online album of your captures, truly a tiny slice of life. I seem to be taking different sorts of photos with my phone than I would with my camera. Although my camera has been neglected I did pick up on the weekend again when we were camping. Downloading it though is a different story, but rest assured you lovers of camping and fishing, it will happen soon I promise.

Nothing more to say. Except I do like yellow.

my creative space...

is not clean, white, or slick. Or minimalistic. Its pretty messy actually. More than a bit disorganised. Made up of second hand bit and bobs. It needs a good overhaul really.

But I do have a space, and don't have to clean up in the middle of a project, and that is what matters most I guess!

Although I reckon a little more minimalism might be a good thing!

Challenge # 4 at Simple Aussie Girls

Its my turn to host the challenge over at Simple Aussie Girls, and I was issued with the directive to do a colour challenge. Colour isn't normally the first step I take in designing a layout, so this was a true challenge for me - although I did shortcut a little I guess when I chose a photo that I wanted to use, and then found a nice colour palette (thanks to pinterest!) that suited.

See the full challenge over at the SAG blog.

_MG_6954Love those "fabric" thickers (which are really fabric glued onto chipboard) from AC. You'll be seeing a bit of them, seeing as I bought two packets of them, and I am making a conscious choice to use up as many of them as I can before they become non-sticky!

_MG_6952Another rustic backdrop, this time in my greenhouse on my gardening bench - the wind outside at the time of was gale force like which is great for the washing drying at the clothesline, but not so much for taking photos of layouts!

Please do pop on over to the Simple Aussie Girls blog and see what the other girls have done.

challenge three

Simple Aussie Girls has another challenge up, this time a sketch provided by the queen of sketches, Nicole.  This time I decided to take some pressure off my tired old brain, and use for journaling a blog post. Some slight editing, and the hard part is done just like that.

the clothesline 12x12A digitally created page, from the original sketch. The main part I will print as a 8x10 photo, and put onto a 12x12 backdrop, just because that's my thing at the moment.

See how everyone else treated the same sketch over at Simple Aussie Girls Blog, and join in on the fun.

Challenge day at Simple Aussie Girls

Over at Simple Aussie Girls today, Di has issued a sketch/template challenge for you all. Here is my version of the challenge - for full details, head on over (and get yourself a tag for your blog whilst you are there!)

_MG_6944

And if you think this page might look similar to other pages you might have seen from my desk - even using the template - you might be right. Bit of a hybrid collage page - print the journaling and the photos, a strip of pretty paper, title and done (plus a cute sticker I found I had that seemed to match!)

_MG_6945(a closer look at the journaling, although you might have to squint! the beauty of blogging, I was able to take the text from my blog and edit slightly to suit my page)

I had another page ready to go...but it just didn't float my boat. I'm not one to redo pages, and this one tells what I want it to, but, you know? some days you make something that makes you go blah.

_MG_6939 Follows the same basic template and premise that Di set but when all put together, it just didn't make me go ahh.

Sometimes that happens! Still, its done, put away and ready to prompt memories for said child at some other time. Which is the whole point, isn't it!

And if you think I seem to be featuring the same child a lot lately, you would be right. I have a little stack of photos of her on my desk that I am working through. At the moment I seem to work best focusing on one child at time.
